EMBODIED PORTRAITS FOR HUMAN BEINGS!

There is inherent wisdom in your body. The way you move, the way you breathe, the way you are sitting right now—it’s all happening with you thinking much about it.

The big secret is, you already know what to do with your body.

And yet, when someone suddenly whips out their camera, you freeze. This freezing is self-doubt happening at the speed of light.

An Embodied Portrait is slowing down to shake out the blocks—it is remembering who you are.

Does the awareness of being perceived make you feel a little weird sometimes?

If so, you’re not alone!

Many of us can feel uncomfortable with being photographed—and it’s usually because we don’t like how we look in pictures.

Sometimes it’s because we feel at odds with the size and shape of our body, we don’t think we know how to move it or we’re simply not used to seeing ourselves. And I mean REALLY seeing. Changing your relationship to being photographed doesn’t happen overnight, but with practice, you can learn how to see yourself more clearly.

So how can you practice?

BY TAKING UP SPACE!

BY TAKING UP SPACE!

Moving your body in ways you haven’t allowed it to move before when you were afraid of it looking weird!

But most importantly, I believe one of the best ways you can learn to see yourself better is by allowing yourself to be seen.
